Scribd – the answer to PDF’s

20 02 2008

Scribd just launched a new killer browser app that will ideally take some market share from Adobe, the leader in the PDF market. Scribd just launched a new program called iPaper which is a lightweight, faster and cleaner version of Adobe Reader. Generally, the reason why PDF documents take so long to load is due to the heavy loading time of opening software on your hard drive and integrating it onto your browser via plug-in. I know I’ve had a ton of times when the PDF has crashed my computer.

The killer nature of this app is that you can actually put ads in the documentation and target it to the content/user that is viewing it. Because it is browser based and is pretty light, you’ll be able to target the content that filters through.
